Swim team layouts

Two quick Swim team layouts.

One showing Laycie doing the butterfly stroke which is her best stroke.  It is the hardest stroke to do but it is her best.  In my opinion the backstroke is the easiest and that is her most difficult.  Go figure.

The other layout is of the team picture and her individual team pictures.  Just to document the 2013 swim team.

First ice skating

Layout I did of my daughter ice skating for the first time.  She went to North Carolina to visit her aunts, uncle and grandmother for Thanksgiving and her aunt took her ice skating.  She was scared and never left the wall of the rink so I did a rink shape and put the photos around it as if she were going around.  I added some ice cycles to the top and in the bottom right corner is the text message that she posted on Instagram where she told me she was going ice skating and I told her not to crack her butt.  I added a couple of ice skater silhouettes and a tag with an ice skater for the first part of the title.  The tile is Ice Skating in North Carolina.  The journalling is simple strips of paper.  Pretty much everything on this layout was cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  I created the background by cutting various snowflake shapes from repositionable contact paper and putting them all over a white piece of 12x12 card-stock and misting with gray and blue Mr. Huey's mist.  I love the way it turned out.

Pointe Shoes in the Park

This is another layout of pictures taken of my daughter & friends in the park on their point shoes.  The background paper is from The Paper Loft Autumn Splendor Orchard.  the wood grain is from my stash so I don't remember what brand it is.  The quote in the bottom left is from Quick Quote the butterfly in the bottom left is something else from my stash.  The fairy is from a stamped image swap.  The butterfly stamp is from my stash and I don't remember the brand of that either.  The flowers are from the Dollar Tree.  This layout is simple and quick but I really like how it turned out.  I like how the photos look being placed to look sort of rounded.

Instagram

My daughter posted her words of wisdom on Instagram along with a "selfie".  I remembered when I was seventeen and when my older girls were seventeen.  That seems to be the magic age when all girls are sure they have all the answers to life's toughest questions.  Oh how I wish I was as smart as I thought I was when I was seventeen.

Fall Layout #2

This is the second layout of the girls fall photo shoot in the park.  The paper and title are from the Echo Park/Lori Whitlock Reflections Fall kit.  The journal block and two phrase blocks are from Quick Quotes and the floral elements are from Dollar Tree.

Fall layout #1

Fall Layout 1

My friend Jessie took a bunch of pictures of my daughter & her granddaughters in the park on a fall morning. In some of the photos (that have yet to be scrapped) they had their pointe shoes on.  This is the first layout from the pictures taken that day.  I used the Echo Park Lori Whitlock Reflections Fall kit that I got from My Craft Channel.com.  The "falling leaves" label and the leaf cutouts were from a swap on yahoo group Scrap-a-holic anonymous.  The burlap was from some little burlap bags Jessie & I found at Michael's.

My latest Christmas card,  I stamped the trees in Memento Bamboo leaves ink then shadowed the background in antique linen distress ink & Adirondack Earth tones Denim.  I then printed the Santa & reindeer on my printer.  I stamped the Twas the Night Before Christmas with the Memento Bamboo Leaves.  Tied on a bit of twine and inked the edges of the card.

Christmas Card

This is a Christmas card I made tonight.  I got the striped paper from the My Mind's Eye 6x6 Signature Christmas by Jen Wilson pad.  I stamped the poinsettia with versa mark on a light pink velum and embossed with white embossing powder.  I then colored the back side with red ink.  I stamped the greeting with versa mark and embossed withe the same white embossing powder.   The salmon colored paper was from my stash.  I did white dash lines and added yellow stickles to the center of the poinsettia.

I love the non traditional colors of the My Minds Eye paper pad.

layout from sketch

I found a sketch by Lisa E Designs (lisae-design.blogspot.com) and made a layout using it.  I have included both the sketch and my layout.

The paper is MME Cut & Paste "Flair" collection.  I can't remember where I got it but I got a kit that had the paper, cut-a-parts, stickers, tiny word stickers, and ribbon.  The ribbon that came in then kit was MME Stella Rose.  The stickers for the title came from my stash and the pink glitter rose I made awhile ago and the white leaves were something I got off of www.listia.com.  Not sure the brand on them, they just said fashion flowers & accessories.

The layout is of my daughter being checked out by the doctor after she ran into the wall while doing the backstroke in swim team practice.  Luckily it wasn't broken but it was jammed and very badly sprained.  So, unfortunately she was out for the next two swim meets.  The elbow is now fine and she will be back to swim next season.

Christmas Tree Advent Calendar

My Christmas Tree Advent Calendar.

The tree itself and the base are cut from medium weight chipboard I got at Walmart.  The drawers were cut using a file from the Silhouette Online store (one drawer box) that I re-sized so I could fit 25 boxes on the page.  Each box has a piece of chipboard behind the front panel to add stability for the pull which is a jingle bell attached with a wire.  I am really happy with the way this turned out.

S.H.O.P. 2 (Moment in Time Layout)

This is another in my Stash horded on page layouts.  The horded items on this layout are the felt floral border (so old I have no idea where I got it or who made it).  The Moment in TIME vellum title, gem butterfly stickers (I think I got them at Walmart.  Not sure of the brand), Jolee's together blossoms 3d sticker and the blue label that says Bring your own Sparkle wherever you go and the journal block.  The paper, feather and prima flower were new.  The vase of flowers 3d sticker came off a thank you card I received from someone.

My daughter's friend wants to be a photographer and librarian when she grows up.  So, she practices on her friends taking their pictures.  I love the way she captured my daughter in this photo.

Background paper - My Minds Eye - Bella Bella - Bella Rose
Photo mat - The Paper Studio - Textured Polka Cream/Black
Border Strips - The Girls paperie by Margie - Vintage Whimsy
Floral paper - Paper Studio Happy all over floral
White Rubon leters - Simply Stated by Making Memories - Heidi lg white
Glitter stickers - Recollections Glitter Stickers.
Blossom 3D sticker - Together Blossoms - Jolee's boutique - EK Success

S.H.O.P. 1

This is a layout I did for my first S.H.O.P (stash horded on pages).  I wanted to start using those things in my stash of scrapbooking supplies that I have been hording. I have a bad habit of thinking, "If I use this here, I won't have it for later."  How silly is that?  So I am on a mission to use up my stash and especially those horded items before allowing myself to buy more.  To that end, I used the Creative Imaginations Awkward Family Photos paper and a couple of the stickers, some yellow enamel dots, alpha stickers that I have had so long I have no idea what company they were from, and three wooden precious moments type buttons (the poem called for four young ladies standing in a row so I made a 4th from my Silhouette Cameo.  I cut the image 8 times and glued them all on top of each other to give the same thickness as the buttons.)

I am very pleased with the layout in general but especially since I used some of the things I have been hording.

Bowling Green Park

This is a layout I made using the sketch.  The layout is of our family vacation in New York.  We had been walking around the financial district and after taking pictures with the bull we found Bowling Green Park and it was the perfect spot to rest our aching feet.  I switched it up a bit by adding my journal spot below the picture because I wanted to put the map location in the circle.  It had a small arrow pointing to our location but I plan on using the map location and a geo tag on each page in the New York trip album and a consistent theme throughout the book.  So, I added a geo tag and covered up the small arrow.  I did a date stamp with arrows between the two photos and then did a stamp above and two below without re-inking the stamp to give it the fade out look.  The tile and the photo corners were cut with my Silhouette Cameo and the map was cut using the print & cut feature of the Silhouette studio software.

This is an altered clipboard I made for a swap at myscraproom.com.  The ladies on that site are so talented I was honored to be in a swap with them.

China Town Scrapbook layout

Newest layout for my upcoming trip to New York. Our hotel is in Chinatown and we will be shopping in Chinatown so I thought this would be a good layout for various Chinatown moments.

I haven't actually put the layout physically together yet.  This is the design I created in Silhouette Studio.  I will cut the pieces and put it together later.  Once I do, I will update the post.

Chillin' & Grillin' scrapbook layout

This layout uses ants and the title "Read" from swaps on yahoo group Scrap-a-holics Anonymous.  My daughter and I love to grill.  One of our favorite things to do while grilling is sit on the deck and read or talk.  We love this time to catch up on all the teenage drama or make plans for vacation or special occasions or catch up on a good book.  Just being together without rushing to get here or do that is the best time of all.

Cedar Train scrapbook layout

The Cedar Train layout is of my father and my youngest daughter.  He has made wooden train sets for each of his great grandchildren.  Since my daughter is the youngest grandchild (16) he started getting worried he would not be alive or able to make trains when she got old enough to start her family.  So, he decided to make one big train for all her future children to share since he has no way of knowing how many she will ultimately have.  He had gotten some cedar wood from my uncle and used that to make the train.

The train, the blue label thing at the bottom, the title and the oval it sits on, the RR sign, and the train tracks were all cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  The circle wood veneer border is from Studio Calico.  I made the bottle cap for a swap but made to many so this was an extra.

I Gotta Picka My Toes scrapbook layout

When my daughter was small she was obsessed with cleaning between her toes.  She would sit down and meticulously rub between each and every toe to make sure there was not a speck of dust, fuzz, dirt, or anything else.  My father always got the biggest kick out of it.  We also loved to ask her what she was doing just to hear her say in that cut little girl voice, "I gotta picka my toes"

The title and feet were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The tag sticker, scalloped border sticker and special sticker were from a sticker sheet I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby.  The journaling is printed on vellum.

Miller Park Zoo scrapbook layout

This layout uses some things from Scrap-a-holics-anonymous yahoo group swaps.  The ZOO sign, and lion, the vellum poem, the two giraffes and the giraffe tag.  The rest were stickers I had on hand with the exception of the turtle at the bottom.  Him I made using my Silhouette Cameo.  I had to have a special turtle because when I took my daughter to the zoo when she was around 2 that was her FAVORITE.  She loved everything else but kept wanting to go back and see the "big turtles".
